When this gorgeous woman (who shall remain discreet!) contacted me to shoot some sexy photos for her, we immediately got to chatting about what she wanted for her session! Mentioning in an email that she wanted something completely out of the box, I knew the hotel room was out of the mix! And I was so excited!!! Not that I don't love shooting in elegant hotel rooms, but this definitely got my creativity buzzin' & the weather is absolutely stellar right now! We met up for coffee and came up with a very different concept for her shoot. My head was spinning with excitement about what her hair would look like, the wardrobe, the shoes! EVERYTHING! Her hope was to shoot somewhere that was run down & a little gritty, and the first place that came to mind was Shack Island. If you're not familiar with it, its a little (mostly abandoned) island sandwiched between Pipers Lagoon & Neck Point, in Nanaimo. Its full of ramshackle, old fishing shacks in various shapes & colours, a few tall oak trees, starfish & oysters! And most of all its full of character!
We made our way over during low tide in the evening, and shot until the tide started rolling in...which was up to our waists by the time we reached the shore!
